BeVenturesome was established by Graham Milton. Here are some of his experiences that went into shaping BeVenturesome.
Discovering kayaking at school
Learning to kayak on the mighty River Mole, Surrey during an after-school outdoor pursuits club was pivotal to opening his eyes to the possibilities of adventure.
Inspiration from school trips
Early school trips to Pembrokeshire and Scotland made a huge impact on his outlook and shaped his hobbies & career path.
Resilience from sport
He became committed to Canoe Slalom as a member of the GB squad. He found elite sport was a fantastic way to learn goal setting and build resilience.
The adventure of University
He achieved a 2:1 in Industrial Economics from Nottingham University. The experience of leading the British University Kayak Expedition to Siberia & Mongolia was as valuable and more memorable!
Exploring the world’s rivers
Graham has lead kayaking expeditions on unchartered whitewater rivers in Greenland, Venezuela, Nepal, Siberia, Mongolia and more. Here he learnt the value of true adventure and managing risk.
Ventures in the work place
During his 20’s he started a business, worked in the city, worked for innovation consultancies and in marketing. He learnt diverse skills in different fields and just needed to find a purposeful application
Finding Land & Wave
Land & Wave supplied the fast paced, start-up, non-corporate environment that he had sought. He looked after marketing, sales, customer experience, water sports instruction and instructor training from 2013 to 2018. You can read about the setting up BeVenturesome Trips here
It all came together
He founded BeVenturesome to run unique school trips that help prepare young people for the work place (and life) of the future…
