A SHORT HISTORY
Our trips are a new and innovative concept based on years of experience and planning. Here is how it all started
2015 - The Spark
Graham and his wife Sophie went to Val D’Isere for an adventure packed holiday. Graham worked for Land & Wave, a fast growing outdoor company in Dorset. Sophie is a French and PE Teacher at a prep school in Dorset. Together they realised what a haven ski resorts are for adventure fuelled school trips in the Summer.
2016 - The Recce
Convincing Owen at Land & Wave to come on a recce to the neighbouring resort of Tignes was not too hard. It was here, along with meeting suppliers and trying every activity in Tignes, that Owen finally got Graham hooked on Espressos.
With a quality week of adventure planned, we just needed some pioneers…
2017 - The Pioneers
It only took a few posts on Land and Wave’s social media streams before a local school, The Bourne Academy, had a small group raring to get out to Tignes.
Needless to say the pupils (and teachers!) had the time of their lives. This trip also ignited the belief that quality adventure experiences can be used in LOTS more ways to prepare young people for their futures.
2018 - Early Adopters
We soon had a phone call from Bedford Prep School looking to take their end-of-year trip to the next level.
35 pupils were off to Tignes for a week of spectacular hiking, white water rafting, paddling, cycling and more…
“It was one of the best trips I have every been on” quotes the Bedford Headmaster. HERE is a photo booklet the trip.
2018 - The Next Stage
It became apparent that providing the incredible experiences to more schools was going to take a lot of energy. Land & Wave are very busy in June & July with Dorset trips and have other exciting projects on the go.
After 5 great years at Land and Wave Graham decided that the best way to take this dream forward was to venture out on his own and create BeVenturesome Ltd.
2019 - Morzine
Determined to improve an already great trip, Graham wanted a resort that offered the same incredible adventure but a shorter transfer and a longer season.
The 2019 season in Morzine was an absolute blast! Every pupil and teacher went home having had a fantastic time
2020 - Looking Forward
Whilst helping a few more schools to take their adventures to the next level, we will be heavily focused on improving our ability to use adventure to better prepare young people for their futures. We have a whole host of exciting things in the pipeline so watch this (very exciting) space…
