Each day is packed full of nature-fuelled fun and activities which we tailor to each groups objectives. From hiking up hills to identifying local wildlife to learning survival skills.
Time: 12:30 to 16:30
We learn basic map reading and navigation skills before planning a walk. We’ll do some countryside familiarisation along the way. Maybe we’ll find some berries to chomp on.
Time: 10:00 to 16:30
We take it in turns to lead the navigation and do various challenges and scenarios on the way. We use our Leadership and Followership workbook to guide pupils through the core principles.
Day 1 – Half day extended Day 2 – Lead & Follow
Day 3 – “Mind Day” The concept of Mind Hygiene and how the natural world can help. How it can reduce stress, aid creativity and help with wellbeing.
Day 4 – “Outdoor Skills” Firelighting, shelter building & outdoor safety. How adventure can be used to boost resilience. Maybe try and summit Leith Hill!?
We operate anywhere in the Home Counties so do get in touch if you have an idea of where you’d like a programme. The Surrey Hill is our go-to location.
We plan days around meeting your group at a train station easily accessible from London (we know the good ones!). Alternatively, if you have mini buses or coach travel we can meet you in a car park.
One of our favourite locations is the Surrey Hills. It’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and includes the dizzy heights of Box Hill and Leith Hill as well as the North Downs. If you’ve not been there you’ll struggle to believe how close to London you are when exploring the countryside.
Train: Dorking station is only a 45min direct train from Clapham Junction and Ockley in just under an hour, putting you in the heart of the Surrey Hills.
Driving: It’s only about 1h30m drive from central London and there are numerous car parks we’d meet you in.
Choose one of our three main themes above and we tailor the day around it. If you just want a simple hike with some navigation, great. If you want a nature walk while we teach pupils about how the natural world can help them, perfect. We can arrange half days, full days or a series of days over a term.
As an example, we could do a hike with your group while working through team challenges on the way. We’ve created workbooks about Leadership and Followership to aid pupils’ learning and provide something for them to take away.
We have a full COVID risk assessment and will work with you to ensure we follow internal procedures as well. MORE INFO
