Operations Manager – Spring & Summer 2023

BeVenturesome is a fast growing adventure eduction company based in Morzine. We bring UK schools here for a week of adventure activities. We’re very busy for summer 2023 and have our first ski trip in March.

Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for an Operations Manager full time from May to July this year. Opportunity for start now with any of the ‘What else we need help with‘ listed below. It will be contract work as a Micro Entrepreneur but we might also consider a CDD. We are looking for someone who would like to do this role each year. You must have a Carte de Sejour.

We are also looking for…
– A team of Adventure Reps
– Anyone who’s mission helps us with our mission (Think media, marketing, business administration etc)

Operations Manager

  • See below for the ‘CORE’ job but we’re also interested in ‘What else we need help with’ in which could bolt on the contract and start from now.
  • Core job is full time from May to July – start and finish dates TBC as bookings are still coming in.
  • We also have a ski trip in March which ideally you’d be available for.
  • Hourly rate 17 to 22 euros an hour depending on experience

CORE – Planning


Logistics
– We have about 400 pupils coming over the summer that are all going hiking, rafting, kayaking and more! Each week needs to be planned in detail to optimise experience and cost. We have some pretty handy software to help.
HR – Planning and implementing pre-season training for staff
Compliance – Ensuring we meet all the various health and safety requirements (Risk Assessment & Operating Procedures etc) 

 

CORE – Delivering
– Going rafting, trekking climbing etc with the groups to ensure they have a wonderful time. You’ll be doing a lot of the Adventure Rep role when we have groups
– Run team building and woodland activities to groups
– Making sure all the logistics run smoothly
– Managing the staff team on a daily basis
– Liaising with our partners and fostering great relationships
– Ensuring operations are delivered to our high safety and quality standards
– Ensure our adventure education themes are delivered to a high standard
– Providing excellent customer services to our schools

 

What else we need help with

Compliance – Risk Assessments, Operations Procedures, policies, French related admin
Content – website management , copy writing, photo and video creation. Creating adventure education resources – we’d like to create a children adventure book for example. We’re also developing our Adventure Notebooks.
Business administration – financial, proposal writing, preparing contracts, HR admin
Growth strategies – Bring our long list of new experiences into fruition
Client (school) management – Liaising with schools for pre trip administration

 

 We are particually keen to hear from people with the following experience as we might be able to help you get a French Diploma enabling you to deliver activities in France

  • Degrees in Sports Managment / Outdoor Education / Teaching or similar (UK or otherwise)
  • Outdoor or sports Qualifications and/or industry experience (UK or otherwise)

We are also interested in the following skill sets:

  • Any French Diploma
  • Ski Instructors
  • French Language
  • Expertise in carbon mitigation and creating low impact companies
  • Event organisation
  • People management
  • Media Skills (video, photos, design etc) We’re looking to create a whole series of videos this summer
  • Travel industry experience
  • Copy writing & other marketing skills
  • Knowledge of UK adventure education industry

1. We have compassionate & awesome humans delivering epic activities in an awe-inspiring location.
2. We follow our themes of Leadership & Followership, Mind Hygiene and Type 2 Fun which are developing.

How do we minimise our environmental impact?
1. For now nearly all our efforts are on getting groups to get the train or coach rather than fly.
